Plusieurs histoires circulent au sujet de l’arbre mythique « Mulemba Waxa N’gola ».
Certains disent que N’gola Kiluanji Kia Samba, le premier roi de Ndongo, l’a planté pour tracer les limites du territoire qui serait occupé par les Portugais. Selon cette version N’gola Kiluanji Kia Samba s’est contenté de s’arrêter à cet endroit et de planter une graine.
D’autres versions disent que l’arbre existait déjà et certaines ajoutent qu’il a déraciné l’arbre pour le replanter à l’envers, ce qui expliquerait la forme particulière des racines aériennes capables de pousser depuis les branches vers le sol.
Une fresque de la citoyenneté sur un mur à proximité de l’arbre rend hommage aux hommes et au femmes d’Angola qui défendent la paix et la démocratie.

Several stories circulate about the mythical tree “Mulemba Waxa N’gola”.
Some say that N’gola Kiluanji Kia Samba, the first king of Ndongo, planted it to mark the boundaries of the territory that would be occupied by the Portuguese. According to this version N'gola Kiluanji Kia Samba simply stopped at this place and planted a seed.
Other versions say that the tree already existed and some add that he uprooted the tree to replant it upside down, which would explain the particular shape of the aerial roots capable of growing from the branches towards the ground.
A citizenship mural on a wall near the tree pays tribute to the men and women of Angola who defend peace and democracy.
