Le secteur minier du Burkina Faso concourt aujourd’hui à près de 20 % des recettes de l’État. Quatrième producteur d’or du continent, le pays dispose en outre d’un potentiel gisement de manganèse de niveau mondial ainsi que de ressources en nickel, phosphate, fer, graphite, plomb, pyrite et antimoine.
