Le vieux village d’Ayamé a été englouti suite à la construction du barrage d’Ayamé 1 sur le fleuve Bia en 1959. Les habitants ont été déplacés et relogés dans la vallée et sur les collines environnantes.

The old village of Ayamé was submerged following the construction of the Ayamé 1 dam on the Bia River in 1959. The inhabitants were displaced and relocated in the valley and on the surrounding hills.
