Après les dégâts causés par l’éruption du volcan Nyiragongo à Goma, au Nord-Kivu, le gaz méthane entassé dans le lac Kivu se présente comme un deuxième grand danger. La présence du gaz menace les 2 millions de personnes qui vivent aux abords du lac et notamment les 6 000 000 habitants de la ville de Goma.
