Cette rocade a été construite sur une ancienne mangrove dans le but de désengorger la RN2 dans la traversée des quartiers sud de Mamoudzou, suite au transfert du chef-lieu de Mayotte à Mamoudzou en 1981, ce qui a entraîné une forte urbanisation de ces villages.

This ring road was built on a former mangrove with the aim of relieving congestion on the RN2 crossing the southern districts of Mamoudzou, following the transfer of the capital of Mayotte to Mamoudzou in 1981, which led to strong urbanization of these villages.
