Montagne d’or est un projet d’exploitation minière d’une concession aurifère de l’ouest de la Guyane française porté par la Compagnie Minière « Montagne d’Or », une coentreprise de la société junior canadienne Columbus Gold, chargée de l’exploration, et de la société russe Nordgold, chargée de l’extraction.
Le projet a fait l’objet d’un débat public en 2018, durant lequel ont émergé, d’une part, une contestation de la part des citoyens, des élus et des associations, en particulier les organisations amérindiennes et le collectif Or de Question, et d’autre part, des soutiens au projet. Le projet est abandonné par le gouvernement en mai 2019, mais en septembre 2021, le média Reporterre révèle que le gouvernement soutient une relance du projet sous une forme différente2. En février 2022, le Conseil constitutionnel rejette finalement la prolongation de la concession minière à la suite d’une saisie du Conseil d’État.

Montagne d’or is a mining project from a gold concession in western French Guyana carried out by the Compagnie Minière « Montagne d’Or », a joint venture of the Canadian junior company Columbus Gold, responsible for exploration, and the Russian company Nordgold, responsible for extraction.
The project was the subject of a public debate in 2018, during which emerged, on the one hand, a protest from citizens, elected officials and associations, in particular Native American organizations and the Or de Question collective, and on the other hand, support for the project. The project was abandoned by the government in May 2019, but in September 2021, the media Reporterre revealed that the government supported a relaunch of the project in a different form2. In February 2022, the Constitutional Council finally rejected the extension of the mining concession following a referral to the Council of State.
