AMOMEX et Instituto Socioambiental, Rio Pardo, 2018
Après deux décennies, M. Edmilson a réalisé son rêve de retourner dans son ancien lieu de vie à Terra do Meio (PA), accompagné de son épouse, Mme Elisa. L’expédition a parcouru le fleuve Pardo, où lui et d’autres collecteurs de caoutchouc travaillaient l’hévéa, la noix du Brésil et d’autres produits forestiers dans les années 1980. L’histoire de M. Edmilson reflète celle du mode de vie amazonien issu de l’occupation de la région par les seringueiros. À 81 ans, il lutte pour reprendre l’usage des ressources de son territoire.

After two decades, Mr. Edmilson fulfilled his dream of returning to his former settlement in Terra do Meio (PA), with his wife Mrs. Elisa. The expedition toured the Pardo River, where he and other rubber tappers worked rubber, chestnut, and other forest products in the 1980s. Mr. Edmilson’s trajectory represents the history of the Amazonian way of life that originated from the rubber tappers occupation in the region. At 81, he struggles to retake the use of resources from his territory.
